About

John was born into a musical family. Both his parents were talented musicians. He became inspired by listening to his father’s quartet group at an early age. The bass player “REB” was his favorite musician. He quickly fell in love with the tone of the Bass guitar and convinced his mother to purchase his first guitar at 9 years of age. Since then John has gone on to perform with numerous musical legends such as Howard Hewitt, Glenn Jones, Keith Sweat, Lil G, Melissa Morgan, Cherrell, Lenny Williams, Tony Terry, Paul Porter, Maurice Lauchner, and Robert Stephens. John communicates and elaborates effectively with the artists he works with – both on stage and in the studio. This creates a melodious energy that permeates the performance as well as the artists on stage. His musical experience also allows him to develop his own projects such as NEXT LEVEL BAND OF CHARLOTTE. Having toured all over the country with major artists, these opportunities gives him the unique ability to present a professional product on a local level. Regardless of style or genre, John is a fan of good, honest, and powerful music. John is married to the love of his life and best friend - Judy. Not only is she his partner in life but also his right hand in managing Next Level Band of Charlotte.
